Traverse City Record Eagle:
Real Estate Rebound Continues After Recession

The Traverse City Record Eagle had a short article in Saturday's (1/17/2015) edition briefly highlighting the end of the year statistics. Their reporter Carol Thompson called our office and spoke with Vicky Oltersdorf regarding the 2014 year-end and the future outlook for 2015. Here is the excerpt of the published portion of the interview.

Oltersdorf Realty broker Vicky Oltersdorf said real estate sales remained strong in November and December, a time when the market usually dips. Calm December weather may be the reason for the uptick.

“We have not had a slowdown,” Oltersdorf said. “December was extremely strong and I’m hoping it will be a very strong January.”

Oltersdorf works in Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties. She said homes in good condition in agricultural areas (vacant land acreage) are in high demand across both counties, but the Northport market saw significant growth.

“Northport really came a long way this year,” she said. “Northport is moving really nicely.”
